A League One supercomputer has predicted where Wrexham will finish in the upcoming season - and it isn't good reading for Red Dragons fans.

Wrexham have gained consecutive promotions from the National League and League Two under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and the management of Phil Parkinson.

While League One will be a significant step up for them, they have already attempted to bolster their squad with the permanent signing of Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo.

And their current wage bills stands close to a number of top League One sides, with more signings targeted before the summer window closes.

The third tier is currently filled with former Premier League clubs, with Birmingham, Bolton and Huddersfield among those who will be targeting automatic promotion.

With the likes of Barnsley, Peterborough, Rotherham and Blackpool all involved, there is an argument that this could be the most competitive third division in decades.

And a new supercomputer, courtesy of bookmakers Grosvenor Sport, has predicted that Wrexham will struggle down in 19th in League One next season.

The Red Dragons would pick up 47 points, avoiding relegation by just five points.

At the other end of the table, the supercomputer predicts Birmingham to earn an instant return to the Championship by winning the league under Chris Davies and their American ownership.

And they will be joined by Blackpool, who narrowly missed out on the playoffs last term but their form was inconsistent under manager Neil Critchley.

In the play-offs, according to the supercomputer, will be Lincoln, Bolton, Huddersfield and Peterborough (who surprisingly only manage 65 goals), with Wycombe, Barnsley and Stockport all predicted to narrowly miss out.

Steve Evans' signing spree at Rotherham will only result in a 10th place finish, while Crawley, Shrewsbury, Cambridge and Burton are all predicted to be relegated.
