Kasper Schmeichel made a heartbreaking revelation in front of his dad in a live interview on CBS Sports.
The Champions League resumed on Tuesday as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Sporting CP all booked their spots in the next round of the competition.
Micah Richards was at the Etihad for Manchester City vs. Real, who ran out 2-1 winners on the night (5-1 on aggregate).
He was joined by Peter Schmeichel and the legendary goalkeeper's son, Kasper, who disclosed his devastating injury diagnosis.

Kasper said he may have played his 'last football game' with surgery required on his damaged shoulder.
He hasn't played since February 22 and will undergo the first of two operations later this month, meaning he will miss Denmark's World Cup play-off semi-final against North Macedonia on March 26.

Speaking to his father and Richards on CBS Sports Golazo, Kasper revealed: "I could've potentially played my last football game.
"I've been a footballer since the day I was born. It's devastating. It's very, very hard to wrap my head around at the moment.
"I got the message [on Tuesday] that it could potentially be the end of my career. By the time I could get back fit I could be plus 40.
"I'm going to give it everything I can to see if I can get back. It would be probably one of the greatest feats of my career if I could ever get back from an injury like this. I'm going to fight, I'm going to try everything I can. I'm going to do the rehab."
The 39-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, hasn't played for Celtic in the past five games but has still taken part in training.
Peter Schmeichel: 'This is seriously bad'
Peter is fully aware of his son's injury and recognises the severity of it given his position.
He hopes the shoulder injury isn't the end for Kasper's career but insists it's 'seriously bad'.
"Whatever situation he was facing, I tried to be there, as a father, as a dad," he said.
"I don't want this to end with an injury like that.
"Shoulder injury for a goalkeeper, you can't imagine how bad that is. Every time you dive to that side, you land on it.
"This is seriously bad. 'What can I do to help Kasper?'"
