Jose Mourinho has already identified his first transfer target at Fenerbahce ahead of his appointment.

Mourinho is set to join Fenerbahce after being sacked by AS Roma in January.

He will pen a two-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months, with his contract containing a 'secret clause'.

It will be his managerial gig in Turkey, having managed in England, Spain and Italy during his legendary career as a gaffer.

Ahead of officially taking charge of Fenerbahce, Mourinho has already set his sights on his first signing.

According to 343 Digital, Romelu Lukaku is the 'first name on Mourinho's wish-list' ahead of the summer transfer window reopening.

The veteran manager worked with the Belgium forward at Chelsea, Manchester United and AS Roma.

At Roma, Mourinho secured Lukaku's services on a season-long loan last summer.

The 31-year-old scored 21 goals across all competitions.

During his time in charge of the Serie A club, Mourinho said Lukaku thrives when he feels loved.

"Romelu needs to feel loved and wanted," he revealed.

Mourinho added: "When he came here, he could sense the team needed a player like him.

"He likes to win - that's in his nature. I think he's really happy."

Lukaku is still on Chelsea's books, having returned to Stamford Bridge for £97.5 million in the summer of 2021.

But his return proved unsuccessful, and he was not part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans.

He has scored 15 goals in his second spell at the club.

The Blues plan to offload him this summer and would demand any suitors match the £38 million release clause in his contract, per Fabrizio Romano.

Fenerbahce aren't the only teams keeping tabs on Lukaku as he's also attracting interest from Napoli, who are set to hire Antonio Conte.

Like Mourinho, Conte has worked with Lukaku before, having had him at his disposal at Inter Milan.
