Chelsea legend John Terry is reportedly closing in on a deal to become a manager in the Saudi Professional League.

Terry is often regarded as one of the finest defenders to ever play in the Premier League.

During his time as a player, he made more than 700 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club, whilst also captaining them to multiple titles including the Premier League and the Champions League.

Since retiring, Terry has coached in the Premier League with Aston Villa and Leicester City, where he was working as an assistant manager to Dean Smith.

The former England captain has also been working as a consultant in the Chelsea academy.

Now, it has been reported that Terry is closing in on his managerial breakthrough.

According to The Sun, Terry is on the verge of joining Saudi Professional League side Al Shabab FC.

It has been claimed that Terry was approached by Al Shabab bosses last month and has been offered a contract of at least two years and up to four.

Although Al Shabab are not one of the big names in the Saudi Professional League, they do have big ambitions and would like to lure the England legend to their club.

If the deal goes through, he will join former England teammate Steven Gerrard in managing in the Middle East.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo became the first big name to move to Saudi Arabia from European football, the Saudi Professional League have been spending big to lure more talents across to their country.

This summer, the likes of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Neymar, Roberto Firmino and Riyad Mahrez have all ditched European football for the Saudi Professional League.

Over the last few weeks, Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad have been trying to lure Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah to make the move to the Middle East but their efforts have been rebuffed by the Anfield club.
