Harry Kane’s preferred destination should he leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season has been revealed.

Kane departed Tottenham for the Bundesliga giants in 2023 and has gone on to become a key man for the German club, scoring 70 league goals since his arrival.

The 32-year-old penned a four-year deal with Bayern following his switch to Bavaria and while he’s not angling for a move away, rumours are rife that he'll look to leave in the summer.

Reports of a 2026 exit were fuelled by Bayern supremo Max Eberl, who has previously told BILD, as quoted by talkSPORT, that Kane is "old enough to make his own decisions, with or without a clause".

A Premier League return is deemed the likeliest scenario should Bayern opt to cash in on the England captain, especially as Kane hunts down Alan Shearer’s goal record.

Kane has scored 213 Premier League goals to date, and needs 261 to set the record in England’s top tier.

A move back to Spurs has also been mooted, where Kane established himself as one of the best strikers on the planet having become first choice for the north London side in the 2014/15 season.

Thomas Frank wants Harry Kane back at Spurs

A return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is one that’ll be welcomed by supporters and head coach Thomas Frank, who is a huge fan of Kane.

“There's a lot of Tottenham fans including myself who would like to see Kane back,” Frank said earlier this week. “He's welcome. If he wants to join us, he's more than welcome.”

Bayern boss Vincent Kompany did move to shut down any talk of a move away from the German side in the wake of Frank's comments.

Even so, a Spurs return wouldn’t be a guarantee, with Kane open to the idea of moving to another Premier League side should the chance to make the move back to England present itself.

Manchester United have previously been linked with a move for Kane, and targeted the England star back in 2023 before he swapped the Premier League for the Bundesliga.

United boss Ruben Amorim was keen on signing an experienced striker last summer but the club decided to spend big on Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

The Premier League powerhouse would be expected to firm up their interest in Kane should the frontman opt to leave Bayern a year before his current deal expires.

Saudi move ruled out

It’s not just in England where Kane has suitors either, with a host of European sides keeping tabs on Kane’s Bayern situation, with Barcelona among those to have shown an interest in the hitman.

And if Kane does push to leave Bayern, then he is expected to remain in Europe, ruling out a Saudi switch.

While a number of Saudi sides have the financial power to offer Kane a lucrative deal to move to the Middle East, a move away from Europe doesn’t appeal to the freescoring frontman at this point.

Kane will look to add to his eight league goals when Bayern host Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga tonight before they take on Pafos in the Champions League next week.
