Gareth Southgate will be faced with tough decisions when he picks his England squad for Euro 2024.

Last time out, England went agonisingly close to winning their first major tournament since the World Cup in 1966.

In front of a packed Wembley, the Three Lions were beaten on penalties by Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

With England expected to seal qualification for next year’s tournament, Southgate will have to start thinking about his squad for the tournament.

Whilst many things can happen from now until next year, we have decided to rank players in different categories according to their chances of being selected by Southgate.

The five categories are: ‘First on the Plane’, ‘Definites’, ‘Squad Options’, ‘Wildcard’, ‘No Chance’.

First on the Plane - Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, John Stones

Crystal Palace winger Olise has represented France at youth levels but is still eligible to play for England, Algeria or Nigeria.

Young Manchester City star Lewis could be one to watch after his recent upturn in form. City boss Pep Guardiola has stated that the 18-year-old will get more minutes this season.
