New footage shows another disgusting act by Leandro Paredes that TV cameras missed

Alternative footage shows the level of Leandro Paredes' vile behaviour after Argentina were beaten by Spain in the World Cup final.

Ferran Torres scored the winner in extra time to give Spain their second World Cup triumph, dominating an Argentina side who did not have a single shot on target in the entire game.

Argentina had Enzo Fernandez sent off for two silly yellow cards, the second of which was a late challenge on Pau Cubarsi to receive his marching orders.

10-man Argentina struggled to pose any threat to their opponents but they also saw a second player sent off after the final whistle as Paredes was dismissed for his antics.

The Boca Juniors midfielder was booked mere minutes after coming on at half-time and had no problem throwing his weight around with wild tackles.

But he brought complete thuggery to the table immediately as Spain celebrated their win.

Paredes was branded a "disgrace" by Gary Neville on ITV after he was spotted throwing punches at Gavi and throwing the Barcelona star to the floor.

But footage on social media showed that before that, he steamed in to Eric Garcia by shoving and kicking him - sending him to the turf.

Paredes then proceeded to grab the former Manchester City defender by the throat and then set his sights on Gavi in a complete headloss.

Referee Slavko Vincic, who was officiating his final game, showed a second red card to Paredes.

There were also ugly scenes elsewhere on the pitch as Spain celebrated. Nahuel Molina aimed a punch on Spain captain and Golden Ball winner Rodri as he ran back on the pitch to celebrate and players from both sets of teams appeared.

Lionel Messi stayed away from any situation, while Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni tried his best to diffuse the situation and separate the players.

Olmo was asked about the behaviour of the Argentina players and staff after the game and said that, "they should also be role models in everything and for the better".

Argentina avoided any punishment for displaying a Falklands banner after their win over England but Paredes may risk a lengthy ban as a result of his conduct at the final whistle.

FIFA are expected to review the incident and any suspension for Paredes will likely carry on to other upcoming competitive fixtures.

FIFA rule state: “Any suspension that cannot be served during the FIFA World Cup 26 will be carried over to the representative team’s next official match in accordance with the relevant provisions of the FIFA Disciplinary Code."

In a final act that summed up their lack of sportsmanship, the Argentina squad had their backs to Spain's World Cup trophy lift and were instead fixed on their supporters behind the game.
