Like the FIFA World Cup™ version of the Easter Bunny - just with a golden Ballon d’Or over chocolate eggs - former England star Michael Owen is surprising fans with the ultimate giveaway: 2x tickets to the FIFA World Cup™ Final in New York.

The celebration of football is well and truly underway, with the biggest superstars from across the globe putting on a show.

A fiesta of goals from record-breakers Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, supported by icons like Erling Haaland, Mo Salah and Harry Kane, has contributed to the highest-scoring FIFA World Cup™ group stage of all time before most teams have even played their third game - and with England almost certainly through to the knockouts, excitement for what's to come will continue to build.

But with New York seeming like a half a world away to those of us watching from home (because it is), Budweiser has recruited Michael Owen to send two people to the Big Apple to bring the trophy home, and all you need to do to enter is go to the pub. A Wetherspoons pub.

Find Michael Owen to win World Cup™ Final tickets

England’s road to New York looks destined to take us through fixtures like Mexico, Brazil, and Portugal, where we’ll be hoping history doesn’t repeat itself, and the mobile, dynamic, star-snubbing roster that Tuchel pulled together look well-equipped to take on the best of the best on the biggest stage in the world.

To have a shot at going, Budweiser has hidden Owen in a Wetherspoons pub somewhere in the country, and all footy fanatics need to do is track down the England icon.

On June 27, Owen will be joined by the Budweiser UK team in a ‘spoons, and those who want a chance at winning the free tickets will simply scan a QR code at the door. The code will enter all fans into a draw, where two lucky fans will get their names written on FIFA World Cup™ Final tickets.

Owen’s location is being teased by Budweiser UK, and fans can prepare their routes by keeping up to date with their socials.

This once-in-a-lifetime occasion will put the winners in the company of 82,498 other football fans who will witness history. Whether it’s England lifting the trophy to end 60 years of hurt, Messi dragging Argentina to back-to-back championships, or France and Spain going toe-to-toe in an all-European heavyweight clash, the special occasion is one only a tiny fraction of people will ever get the chance to marvel in.

The winners will even have first-class tickets to football’s first half-time show, featuring Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Madonna, Shakira, and K-pop group BTS.

Can England make the World Cup™ Final?

Of course, we’re all hoping that these tickets will give the winners the unprecedented chance to watch Harry Kane lead the Three Lions out of the tunnel. The mood has been dampened slightly by the 0-0 draw against Ghana, but England banished long-term ghosts in the opening thrashing of Croatia and arguably look better equipped for playing against teams that will attack more and leave spaces.

Tuchel’s tactical prowess was on full display against Croatia too, as he deployed a half-time shift in dynamics that changed the game when it was a stalemate.

The England boss has also gone on to earn the favour of the players through his early showings at the FIFA World Cup™, throwing around the old-school hairdryer treatment in his team talk that awakened the beast inside the likes of Jude Bellingham and Jordan Pickford, both of whom departed the game with a smile on their face and an embrace with the boss.

While there’s a long way to go, there’s no denying that England’s chances are as high as they ever have been.

Even if the Three Lions don’t make it all of the way, a free shot at watching football history isn’t to be passed.

With official ticket prices for FIFA World Cup™ games reaching an all-time high, this could be your chance to be among the luckiest people on the planet, and all you need to do is find Michael Owen, and help yourself to a pre-match scoop or a cheeky mocktail in celebration…
