FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been, and will continue to be, regularly spotted at the ongoing World Cup in North America, prompting questions about his salary. So, SPORTbible has broken down the football executive's eye-watering salary and bonuses.

The Swiss-born football executive, who was first elected FIFA President in 2016, is now 10 years into the role and has overseen three World Cups – Russia 2018, Qatar 2022 and USA, Mexico and Canada 2026.

The 56-year-old began working at UEFA – European football's governing body – in 2000 and was later appointed Director of Legal Affairs and the Club Licensing Division in 2004.

By 2007, he had been promoted to UEFA Deputy General Secretary before becoming General Secretary two years later.

During his time at UEFA, Infantino played a leading role in the decision to expand the European Championships to 24 teams and contributed to the creation of the UEFA Nations League.

In February 2016, he was first elected FIFA President for a period of three years. He was later re-elected in June 2019 and March 2023.

While several of Infantino's decisions, such as expanding the World Cup to 48 teams, and his close relationships with world leaders including Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, have resulted in widespread criticism from fans, the FIFA President is expected to run for re-election in 2027 despite FIFA statutes limiting presidents to three terms.

Infantino previously ran unopposed in 2019 and 2023 and is largely credited with improving the financial situations of many smaller associations, which in turn may help him secure a fourth term, with half of FIFA's 211 voting associations located in Asia and Africa.

Infantino's FIFA wage revealed

Like most high-profile positions, with great power comes great responsibility, something Infantino appears to embrace rather than shy away from.

The 56-year-old is also heavily compensated financially for his work as FIFA President, with Infantino receiving a 33 per cent increase in his annual bonus in 2025 as part of a $6 million (£4.4 million) pay package made public by the organisation.

Infantino's basic salary remained unchanged at $3.3 million (£2.42 million), although his bonus increased by $695,000 (£510,000), taking his total bonus payment to $2.78 million (£2.04 million).

In both 2023 and 2024, Infantino received a bonus of around $2 million (£1.47 million).

It remains unclear whether Infantino is entitled to further payments for maintaining homes in Switzerland and Florida, where FIFA has offices.
