A lucky punter has won an incredible 1733/1 double bet after a dramatic Euro 2024 play-off result.

On Thursday, Wales emphatically beat Finland 4-1 in a European Championship play-off semi-final to set up a clash against Poland for a place in Euro 2024.

Wales netted through David Brooks, Neco Williams, Brennan Johnson and Daniel James to move within touching distance of reaching their fourth major tournament out of five.

Rob Page’s side will welcome Poland - 5-1 winners over Estonia in the other Path A semi-final - in Cardiff on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in Path B, Ukraine netted twice in the last five minutes to come from behind and beat Bosnia 2-1 in Zenica.

On Tuesday they will face Iceland, who also came from behind to beat Israel 4-1 in Budapest, with Albert Gudmundsson netting a hat-trick.

And one punter has won an incredible 1733/1 double bet after the set of results in the play-off semi-finals.

For the Wales encountered X account @ConnorParker10 had placed a bet on both teams to score, Johnson to net, Wales to win and Robin Lod to receive a yellow card.

But the bet only came through courtesy of Ukraine’s comeback victory, with @ConnorParker10 having also had money on Artem Dovbyk to score, Ukraine to win, the game to include over 2.5 goals and Mykola Matviyenko to be carded.

Having bet just £2.50 on the above they made a profit of £4099.05.

Ahead of Wales game against Poland on Tuesday Page said: "We are in a healthy position because we've got everybody playing.

"The gap in the World Cup play-offs [between the Austria semi-final in March and Ukraine final in June] suited us because we had senior players who weren't playing club football, in Aaron [Ramsey], in Gareth [Bale].

"That gap helped us. If it had been four or five days later, we might have struggled a bit.

"Now we're in a different position because we've got a younger squad, a fitter squad, we've got players who are playing regularly."
