Fans have praised Ronaldo for how he dealt with the situation.

Cristiano Ronaldo accidentally called the wrong number and his reaction was so wholesome.

Ronaldo, who plays his football for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, is best known for his goalscoring capabilities, having plundered over 830 goals for club and country.

Despite being 38-year-olds, the Portuguese superstar rarely gives defences a moment's peace, and has already managed two goals in two starts for his club this season.

However, Ronaldo seemingly had all the time in the world for one lucky lady, who picked up the phone to Ronaldo after he dialled the wrong number. You can listen to their heartwarming conversation below.

Ronaldo was quick to apologise, explaining that he was trying to call his friend but got the wrong number, before politely asking about the lady's profession.

The lady clarified she was Haleme Boland, a famous Kuwaiti television presenter and former fashion model who has a significant following in the Middle East.

She could hardly contain her excitement, telling Ronaldo that his call was "the best mistake in the world".

The video has since gone viral on Twitter and fans were quick to praise Ronaldo for how he handled the situation.

"How can you hate this man", wrote one fan.

"I love the fact that he is apologising, so humble," another added.

The way he said “what are you doing”, I love this man", a third replied.

"He is talking so normal bro he is the best person ever fr. That woman is so lucky really", a fourth wrote.

On Thursday, Ronaldo scored an 87th minute header to send Al Nassr through to the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup which will take place on Sunday.

Both Ronaldo and new signing Sadio Mane are expected to be involved after the former Liverpool forward made the switch from Bayern Munich earlier this week.

Indeed, the Saudi Pro League is becoming an increasingly popular destination for players, with the country boasting a seemingly limitless pool of money to throw at big stars.

N'Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are just a few names to have made the move. While Kylian Mbappe turned down the opportunity to join Al Hilal which would have seen him become the highest paid player world football.
