Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are ‘closely monitoring’ the situation of a Premier League player as they look to bolster their squad before the end of the transfer window.

Ronaldo, 39, has played for the Saudi Pro League outfit since he left Manchester United in the winter of 2022.

And despite being in the twilight years of his career, the Portuguese has consistently impacted games with 15 league goals and three assists in 17 appearances in the SPL this season.

However, his team currently sit third in the division, five points behind league leaders Al-Hilal and second-place Al-Ittihad, the former have been linked with a potential move for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Although Ronaldo has won the Arab Club Champions Cup, he has yet to lift the Saudi Pro League title. As a result, Al-Nassr are keen on bringing more quality and experience to their ranks ahead of the second half of the campaign.

On Thursday, The Athletic reported that the club had submitted a €65m bid to sign Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma.

Although Brighton rebuffed their offer and are reluctant to sell the Japanese international.

Earlier this week, it emerged that Al-Nassr were keen on bringing in Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran, who has been in impressive form this season.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player is “due to travel to Saudi Arabia” on Friday to finalise his transfer.

Last week, reports surfaced suggesting that Ronaldo himself has advised the club to sign his former Real Madrid and United teammate Casemiro, with the Brazilian featuring sporadically for the Red Devils this season.

He may also link up with another former Madrid star, who is now plying his trade in the Premier League.

Ronaldo played with Mateo Kovacic 81 times at the Spanish champions between 2015 and 2018 with the pair winning three Champions League’s together.

According to reports from The Sun, Al-Nassr are “weighing up a shock move” for Kovacic, 30. It is claimed that no official approach has been made at this time because the potential move is “complicated” by the fact Manchester City would need to replace the Croatia international.

Juventus’ Douglas Luiz has been linked with a move to the Premier League champions, but the clubs are thought to be struggling to agree a deal.
