Fans believe Cristiano Ronaldo is in pain every day after the Portugal star posted a picture of his feet on social media.

Naturally, Ronaldo has been in sensational goal-scoring form for Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr this term, having netted on 36 occasions so far.

However, there has also been a sharp downturn in Al Nassr’s form, with the club having been knocked out of the Asian Champions League and seen their faint title hopes snuffed within the past few weeks.

Nevertheless, Ronaldo is likely to have his sights set on European Championship glory in Germany, where, at 39 years old, he will captain Portugal.

Ahead of this month’s international break, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner posted a photo to his Instagram story in which he is sat by a pool, with only his feet visible. Ronaldo captioned the photo: “Recharging”.

The photo has since been circulated across social media with fans noting the toll a lengthy football career has taken on the Portugal international’s feet.

One fan wrote on X, formally Twitter: "22 years of pro footy man look at his feet. he wakes up with crazy pain every day for sure.”

Another said: "This is one of the silent battles players have to go through, imagine the pain.”

A third added: "Said this so many times he should take an 8k image of his legs and feet when he retires to show all the endurance of his feet and legs.

"I think he should walk off the field barefoot with his socks in his boots and his boots in his hand."

Ronaldo was enjoying a break after scoring the game’s only goal in a victory over Al Ahli on Friday.

It was the attacker’s first goal since serving a one-game ban following a controversial celebration in a win at Al Shabab.
