Cristiano Ronaldo has addressed rumours regarding his future at Al Nassr following his controversial strike.

In early February, football great Ronaldo made headlines as he refused to play for current club Al Nassr as part of a protest against the club's lack of action in the winter transfer window.

The 40-year-old was said to be angry with the fact that fellow Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema was allowed to terminate his Al Ittihad contract before moving to Al Hilal, who are rivalling Al Nassr for the Saudi Pro League title.

Following the protest, Ronaldo has been absent from several of Al Nassr's matchday squads, prompting rumours that he could look to leave the Saudi Arabian club in the near future.

But now, Ronaldo has spoken out to confirm exactly how he feels about his current club and reveal his plans for the future.

On Saturday, Ronaldo put in a statement performance in only his second match since returning to the Al Nassr side as he a brace in his side’s dominant 4-0 win over Al Hazem.

The goals took his tally for the season up to 21, and after the match Ronaldo made it clear that he intends to continue adding to this total for the foreseeable future.

“I’m very happy. As I say so many times, I belong to Saudi Arabia," the Portuguese striker claimed.

“It’s a country that welcomed me, my family and my friends very well. I’m happy here. I want to continue here.

“And the most important thing, it’s we keep pushing. We are there at the top.

“Our job is to win, make pressure [on our title rivals], and let’s see. We are on track.

“We’re back, we are good, we are confident. Game by game. We are in good shape. Let’s see what’s going to happen.”

Ronaldo's statement comes after the Saudi Pro League, issued an official statement condemning the star player's strike.

However, it appears that Al Nassr fans are fully behind their man, as during their clash with Al Ittihad, a game Ronaldo missed due to his strike, they held up cards branded with 'Ronaldo 7', making a yellow wall around the stadium.

The fan display started as drums in the stands were played as with supporters shouted 'Siu' on the beat while holding up their cards.
