Chelsea could soon break a little-known record, which was significantly helped by Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe.
Chelsea won the Conference League and secured Champions League qualification in what proved to be a relatively successful 2024/25 campaign for Enzo Maresca’s side.
However, it will likely still be a busy summer both on and off the pitch for the club.

The Blues are set to take part in the newly formatted 32-team FIFA Club World Cup and will take on ES Tunis, LA FC, Flamengo and Leon during the group stage.
As the team take to the pitch in the U.S., behind the scenes, the recruitment team and hierarchy will, no doubt, be working to get the deal over the line and players off the already hefty wage bill.
Chelsea have already reached an agreement for forward Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, after he netted 12 goals in his maiden Premier League campaign.

According to The Telegraph, the club are also in talks with Borussia Dortmund regarding a move for England Under-21 winger Jamie Gittens and are ‘weighing up’ a £50m bid.
However, several players will likely leave the club this summer.
As reported by The Guardian, with the values by Transfermarkt, up to 15 players could depart with Robert Sanchez (£16.9m), Djordje Petrovic (£15.2m), Wesley Fofana (£21.1m), Axel Disasi (£18.6m), Trevoh Chalobah (£21.1m), Renato Veiga (£15.2m), Ben Chilwell (£12.7m), Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£16.9m), Carney Chukwuemeka (£12.7m), Lesley Ugochukwu (£15.2m), Christopher Nkunku (£29.6m), Joao Felix (£21.1m), Noni Madueke (£33.8m), Raheem Sterling (£8.5m) Nicolas Jackson (£42.2m) and Kepa Arrizabalaga (£8.5m) all up for sale at the right price.

If all of the aforementioned players were sold at the values stated, this would see the club receive £309.3m in transfer fees.
The number would represent a new record, beating Monaco’s £307m in sales back in 2018, with Mbappe’s £166m move to PSG making up more than half of the amount.
