Chelsea fans are extremely worried about Cole Palmer after clip from Club World Cup game goes viral

Chelsea were beaten by Flamengo at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Chelsea fans have been reacting on social media after seeing a clip of Cole Palmer from the FIFA Club World Cup match against Flamengo.

Palmer, 23, started for Chelsea as they took on Brazilian club Flamengo at the Club World Cup on Friday.

It turned out to be a poor evening for the Premier League giants as they fell to a 3-1 defeat despite Pedro Neto scoring the opener with 13 minutes on the clock.

The Brazilian side managed to mount a spirited comeback thanks to goals from Bruno Henrique, Danilo and Wallace Yan.

Chelsea were also reduced to 10 men after Nicolas Jackson for shown a red card for a stamp.

After the match, Chelsea fans raised concerns over Palmer after one clip went viral.

As shown in the video, the Englishman received the ball in midfield but instead of making a forward pass, turned around and played the ball backwards.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "Cole Palmer isn't the same anymore. I don't care what anyone says. You can see it, or be blind to it."

Another tweeted: "I screamed watching this moment, the old Palmer will put that ball the goal area where Neto can run into. We may never witness Poch’s Palmer ever again."

A third fan added: "Maresca hasn’t improved any player since he joined us."

Someone else wrote: "Saw a lovely progressive pass, made a roulette turn and played a backward pass. I was like what did I just watched."

However, some fans were quick to defend Palmer.

A fan said: "Oh shut up, 2 games ago he literally won us a trophy."

Another commented: "Ball was too tight for him to chip with power or hard high pass bruh."

One user wrote: "He just provided 2 assists in a cup final, here if he passed also there's no support for Neto."

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said after the match: "It's very important [to show a reaction in the next game. We need to win on Tuesday to make sure we get through to the next stage."
