A Chelsea player is being slammed by fans despite their emphatic 6-2 victory over Wolves.

A topsy-turvy game at Molineux saw the Blues claim their first win of the 2024/25 season. Nicolas Jackson’s early opener was cancelled out by Matheus Cunha, before Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer restored his side's lead with a lobbed effort from distance.

Their advantage was short lived however, after Strand Larsen finished a well-worked set piece to draw Wolves level.

But the second half saw Noni Madueke net an exceptional 14-minute hat-trick before Joao Felix added a sixth.

Despite Chelsea’s emphatic attacking display, fans on social media have continued to criticise Blues winger Mykhailo Mudryk, who failed to get on the scoresheet.

On the Ukrainian, one person said during the game: “Yh Mudryk your time is up.”

Another added: “Mudryk needs to dip though he’s ruining the vibes.”

A third said: “Everyone in the attack ate bar Mudryk… his departure can’t come soon enough.”

Elsewhere, speaking after scoring a hat-trick against Wolves, which were all assisted by Palmer, Madueke said via Sky Sports: "It is unbelievable.

"He is cold and I am fire so it mixes well. He has the ability to always play a pass at the right time. I like to get the ball in space, beat people and make things happen, so luckily today it worked."

The forward also apologised for a pre-match social media post in which he criticised the city of Wolverhampton.

Madueke said: "I just want to apologise to anyone I might have offended," he added.

"It was a human mistake, an accident. It wasn't meant to be out on my socials. I'm sure Wolverhampton is a lovely town, I'm just sorry. In terms of the boos, I expected it. But you have to learn under that type of pressure."
