Chelsea must follow strict UEFA rule following Conference League final win against Real Betis

Chelsea must abide by UEFA's rules following their Conference League triumph.

Chelsea must follow a strict UEFA rule following their Conference League triumph over Real Betis.

Chelsea beat Betis 4-1 in Wroclaw to win the Conference League, completing the European trophy set.

Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho and Moises Caicedo all got on the score-sheet in the second-half of Wednesday's final.

The Blues became the first club to win all five of UEFA's men's senior club competitions, having already claimed the Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup and the now defunct Cup Winners' Cup.

Chelsea will have to make an incredibly rare choice following their Conference League success.

And per UEFA regulations, they must follow a strict rule regarding the trophy.

Chelsea will receive a full-size replica trophy as the original trophy, which was used in the official presentation ceremony, remains in UEFA's keepings and ownership at all times.

UEFA rules say: "Replica trophies awarded to winners of the competition (past and current) must remain within the relevant club’s control at all times and may not leave the club’s country without UEFA’s prior written consent (in this respect, clubs must comply with any request from the UEFA administration to confirm the location of the club’s replica trophies).

"Clubs must not permit a replica trophy to be used in any context where a third party (including sponsors and other commercial partners) is granted visibility or in any other way that could lead to an association between any third party and the trophy and/or the competition. Clubs must comply with any trophy use guidelines that the UEFA administration issues."

So, this season, Chelsea have won the Conference League and qualified for the Champions League after finishing in fourth place in the Premier League.

And they could add to their trophy cabinet this summer when they participate in the Club World Cup, which takes place in the United States.
