Chelsea 'frustrated' with wife of senior player after she refuses to delete cryptic social media post

Chelsea 'frustrated' with wife of senior player after she refuses to delete cryptic social media post

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is under increasing pressure after their defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Chelsea are reportedly frustrated with the wife of a senior player after she refused to delete a cryptic social media post.

It has been a season to forget for Chelsea so far as they sit 11th in the Premier League.

Despite spending big money on the likes of Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer, manager Mauricio Pochettino has failed to deliver the expected results.

On the back of their 4-2 defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, the wife of defender Thiago Silva, Belle, took to social media to express her displeasure.

She wrote: “It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.”

According to The Telegraph, Belle’s message has left figures within the club unimpressed.

It is believed that Mrs Silva was an outspoken figure during Graham Potter’s time in charge of the Stamford Bridge club.

Her latest message, whatever the meaning, is thought to have caused frustration as it was posted and was not deleted.

Speaking after the match, Pochettino said: “I am so disappointed, we need to change this feeling, and I apologise to the fans. I say thank you to the fans who kept going to the end helping the team and supporting the team.

“The main problem was that we felt the pressure and the stress to win, to play well, to perform. We didn’t have time when Palmer scored to build our momentum in the game and to dominate and play easy and feel confident.”

He added: “The feeling after Liverpool was affecting the team so much. The easy things when we play in the build-up with possession became difficult and it was easy for them to counter our game with their energy.”

Chelsea are back in action on Wednesday as they take on Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth-round replay.
