Chelsea dressing room 'source' makes worrying claim about Mauricio Pochettino that will concern fans

Chelsea dressing room 'source' makes worrying claim about Mauricio Pochettino that will concern fans

Mauricio Pochettino's coaching has come under fire, according to a report.

A Chelsea source close to the dressing room has made a worrying claim about under-fire boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues were condemned to their 10th league defeat of the season as they were beaten by Wolves 4-2.

They took the lead through Cole Palmer, but the visitors hit back to eventually secure a famous win at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea and Wolves fans joined forces to sing a derogatory chant aimed at Pochettino during the league fixture.

Ben Chilwell, who captained his side, angered Chelsea fans with his post-match comments as the club reportedly have a manager they want to replace Pochettino amid their poor form.

The Argentine boss' coaching has now come under fire, with a source close to the Chelsea dressing room delivering a damning verdict.

The Athletic write: "Some sources close to the dressing room, speaking anonymously to The Athletic in order to protect relationships, have suggested coaching on tactical elements is limited and players are essentially playing off the cuff. Others insist this is not the case."

The report also outlined Chelsea's plan from the outset, adding: "Chelsea’s idea from the outset was to build a squad ready to take advantage of the moment Pep Guardiola and Klopp leave their jobs at Manchester City and Liverpool respectively, while trying to compete on all fronts in the interim."

Chelsea have recruited heavily over the last few transfer windows, notably splashing out £107 million and £115 million to acquire Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo respectively.

But the squad rebuild hasn't gone to plan as several players have failed to impress since joining the club.

Chelsea slumped into the bottom half of the table following their defeat to Wolves and have just 31 points on the board.

They've won just nine league games ahead of resuming their faltering league campaign next Monday against Crystal Palace.
