Chelsea Squad's True Feelings on Alejandro Garnacho Emerge After Spurs Incident

Alejandro Garnacho was called out for what he did following his substitution against Tottenham.

Alejandro Garnacho has left an impression on the Chelsea staff following his incident against Tottenham.

Garnacho has made eight appearances across all competitions for Chelsea since his summer move from Manchester United, including a place from the start against Spurs last weekend.

He started his side's 1-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but was substituted by Enzo Maresca in the second-half.

The Argentine was replaced by Jamie Gittens in the 66th minute and made his feelings known on the bench.

He shook his head in disbelief as Chelsea fans called him out for his reaction.

Despite Garnacho's petulant reaction, he has impressed staff at Chelsea, with early signs suggesting he is adapting quickly both on and off the pitch.

That's according to Give Me Sport, who claim Garnacho has impressed those around the club with his 'energy' and 'professionalism' as he continues to adjust to Maresca's system and expectations.

Chelsea staff at the club's training base have been encouraged by Garnacho's attitude and intensity. He's working hard to refine his decision-making in the final third.

Per the report, coaches at Cobham are said to appreciate his willingness to stay behind after sessions to sharpen his finishing and crossing, which they see as a strong indication of his mindset.

Garnacho is 'taking everything in' and remains eager to impress, according to those inside the camp.

Chelsea's South American contingent, including countryman Enzo Fernandez, have helped him settle at the club and adjust him to the group dynamic.

The 21-year-old is also believed to be settling comfortably in London, having moved from Manchester.

Enzo Maresca told to 'bring Alejandro Garnacho down to earth'

In terms of performances on the pitch, Garnacho has endured a mixed start to life at Chelsea, having scored just one goal this season.

Before his outburst against Spurs, Argentina World Cup winner Oscar Ruggeri criticised the star forward, claiming he is 'full of himself' and 'needs to be brought down to earth'.

"He’s no better than anyone else, you’re a football player, enjoy it, but you shouldn’t be so full of yourself," he exclaimed.

"It’s pointless because you miss out on so much. Someone has to bring him down to earth."
