Weston McKennie's goal in the 82nd minute forced the tie into extra-time, where Galatasaray put the game to bed.
Osimhen scored in first-half injury time before Baris Alper Yilmaz added a second for his side.
Speaking after Galatasaray's victory, Osimhen conducted an interview with CBS Sports, where he fielded questions from ex-Manchester City defender Richards.
Live on-air, Richards asked him about the CBS Sports show.

He asked: "Are you aware of the show? Have you seen the show on social media?"
A confused Osimhen hilariously replied: "What show?"
His answer didn't impress Richards, who looked away in disgust as Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher burst out laughing.
When the former England international re-delivered his question, Osimhem responded: "Which show?"
Someone away from the screen then informed the 27-year-old that Richards was talking about the CBS Sports show he was currently on to which he replied: "Oh this one... of course."
