Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly registered an interest in a Chelsea star ahead of the sides’ Champions League round of 16 first leg.
On Wednesday (11 March), Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea face reigning European champions PSG at the Parc des Princes, which is arguably the English head coach’s toughest test since arriving at the club on 6 January.
Rosenior has only lost to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal – three times – since undertaking the role, while also guiding the Stamford Bridge club to impressive wins over Aston Villa and Napoli.
However, facing one of the best sides in Europe will provide an entirely different test for Rosenior’s side.

The Ligue 1 club’s players and coaching staff will be laser-focused on the task at hand; however, reports suggest that the club’s hierarchy may also be keeping a close eye on a Chelsea star whom they may target in the summer transfer window.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, PSG see Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as someone who boasts the technical ability, experience and talent to thrive in Paris, with the French side in contact with the player and his representatives despite the Argentine being contracted to the Blues until 2032.

Fernandez, 25, joined Chelsea from Portuguese side Benfica for a then British-record fee of £107 million in February 2023 and has since gone on to make 157 appearances for the club, contributing 27 goals and 28 assists.
The 25-year-old is reportedly Chelsea’s third-highest earner at £180,000 per week, which would also make him PSG’s ninth-highest-paid player if he were to join the Paris club.
Fernandez would likely be worth well in excess of the £107 million fee Chelsea paid for him, although it remains unclear whether PSG would be willing to pay such a hefty price.
The Argentina international would compete with Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha for a starting place in Luis Enrique’s side if he were to complete a transfer.
Fernandez has previously been complimentary about PSG, describing the side as the best on the planet during last summer’s Club World Cup, during which Chelsea beat the French side in the final.
“Today I believe so (they are the best team on the planet); they have achieved it in recent months and their level of play has also been improving,” Fernandez told La Nacion.
It is unclear whether Fernandez would be willing to move to PSG.
