Lamine Yamal’s response when asked if he knows who Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards are as they interview him on CBS

The Barcelona star impressed during the Champions League match against Inter Milan.

Lamine Yamal made Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards' day after they asked the Barcelona star if he had ever heard of them live on CBS.

A thrilling Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Inter Milan finished as a 3-3 draw on Wednesday night in Spain, leaving everything to play for in the second leg next week.

Although Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries took home the player of the match award, Barcelona star Yamal once again demonstrated that, even at his age, he is one of the best players in the world after playing a key role in his side's comeback.

Not only did the 17-year-old impress fans with his performance on the pitch, but he has also won over some of the most popular pundits in the sport after speaking to them live on CBS Sports.

As always, fan-favourite panel Kate Scott, Thierry Henry, Carragher and Richards were live covering the exciting Champions League match between Barcelona and Inter Milan on Thursday.

After the match, the pundits spoke to players from both sides, asking them to pick which of the four of them was their personal favourite, and Yamal didn't even hesitate to choose.

"I knew you were going to ask me this question!" the Barcelona youngster confessed.

"Thierry Henry, what were you thinking Micah?"

Clearly gutted to have been snubbed by Yamal. Carragher and Richards then decided to ask the forward if he even knew who they were given his age.

But they relieved to hear that, despite the fact that he was only five when Carragher retired and 11 when Richards hung up his boots, Yamal did know them both and was clearly a fan.

"Yamal's my mate," joked Carragher.

After his side went 2-0 down to goals from Marcus Thuram and Dumfries, Yamal opened the scoring for Barcelona in their home leg and played a key role in setting up their other goals of the evening.

Having broken into the Barcelona team last season and impressing for Spain during their title-winning Euro 2024 campaign, Yamal has enjoyed a stellar season so far.

Across 49 appearances in all competitions, Yamal has scored 15 goals and assisted 24, with Barcelona remaining favourites to win La Liga while they maintain a strong chance of winning the Champions League.
