The much-talked-about career path of Kylian Mbappe and whether his talent is going to waste at Paris Saint-Germain is a huge topic of debate right now.

Ligue 1 champions PSG suffered another demoralising defeat in the Champions League on Wednesday as goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar sealed a historic victory for the Magpies.

Lucas Hernandez managed to claw a goal back after a delicious pass from teenage midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery, who was arguably their best player on the night.

But ultimately, the majority of PSG's team struggled at St James' Park, including captain Kylian Mbappe, who has been frustrated by his team's lack of progress in Europe since joining in 2017.

Mbappe's lack of silverware away from Ligue 1 has been a talking point for some time. He was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer but that failed to materialise.

Now, many are discussing his age and whether the World Cup winner needs to move on before it's too late.

One fan wrote: "Kylian Mbappé still playing at PSG and Ligue 1 at the age of 25 is very sad to see. A player with his talent shouldn’t be spending 9 seasons there."

Another said: "Kylian Mbappé is turning 25 in two months. How on earth is he still playing for this club?"

A third commented: "Mbappe is going to be 25 in a few months and he’s still at PSG, this guy is wasting his talent man."

A fourth wrote: "Mbappe is 25 next month, for me he's the best talent in the sport. Is he wasting his prime at PSG or am I over-rating him... is this his level?!"

A fifth added: "Still can't believe Mbappe didn't force a move out of PSG this summer. He'll be 25 in December. Wasted so much of his career there."

Last month, PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi suggested Mbappe would extend his contract to 2025, despite ongoing rumours of a transfer to Real Madrid.

"Kylian is committed to PSG," Al-Khelaifi told the PSG squad: "Kylian is back."

Do you think it's time for Mbappe to move on next year or should he stay at the Parc des Princes? Let us know in the comments.
