Jamie Carragher has responded to a report that claimed he was blocked from joining Borussia Dortmund fans in the away end by UEFA and Manchester City.
In the build-up to Wednesday's Champions League clash, Carragher took part in an entertaining segment for American broadcaster CBS Sports, in which he walked to the Etihad stadium with Dortmund fans.
A short time later, Carragher spoke about his experience while pitchside. "I've been with the Dortmund fans already today," he said. "Our relationship is like a house on fire. We absolutely love the bones of each other."
It has since emerged that the former Liverpool defender was 'keen to cheer on the German side at the Etihad', according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim he was denied access to the away end.

UEFA and Manchester City are said to have taken 'a dim view' and 'swiftly' rejected a request from CBS.
The report added: "UEFA's view was that the pundit's media credentials did not stretch to him swapping the press area for the stands, while City believed the presence of a former Liverpool player in the away end and supporting the opposition would not have been the wisest move and could well have caused a problem."
A few hours after the claims were made and Carragher responded with a comment of his own. Taking to X on Thursday night, he replied to journalist Mike Keegan, who posted his exclusive story on the social media platform.
"Just trying to have a good time with the Dortmund fans Mike, it was no problem it wasn’t allowed," he wrote. "Next time message me & I’ll tell you all you need to know, rather than Simon at Man City giving you a story."
Carragher added: "Probably explains why you’re so sympathetic around the 115 charges."
Keegan replied: "I already knew the facts, Jamie, but you clearly don’t. Next time you’re covering a game at City you should probably apologise to Simon for wrongly accusing him of being the source on the story."

Away from Carragher and an in-form Manchester City moved into the top eight of the Champions League league phase with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Dortmund.
Erling Haaland netted against his former club, Phil Foden scored a brace and a late effort from summer signing Rayan Cherki sealed all three points for the home side.
