The Carabao Cup second-round draw has been done.

The Carabao Cup second-round draw has been made as Premier League clubs enter the competition.

On Tuesday night, 32 Carabao Cup fixtures were played with the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Watford, Sheffield United and Coventry City all sealing passage to the next round.

Three games were played on Wednesday night with Hull City losing 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday, Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle beating Cheltenham Town 3-0 and Leeds United were also knocked out after losing 3-0 to Middlesbrough.

After the matches on Wednesday night, the draw was made with Premier League sides not in Europe entering the competition, including the likes of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In round three, the rest of the top flight such as holders Liverpool and Premier League champions Manchester City will be involved.

Last season, Liverpool won the Carabao Cup in dramatic circumstances after Virgil van Dijk headed in a Kostas Tsimikas corner in the 118th minute to seal a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley.

It proved to be Jurgen Klopp's final trophy as Liverpool boss.
