Roberto De Zerbi shared a classy moment with former Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister following his side's hard-earned point against Liverpool.

Brighton and Liverpool played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the AMEX on Sunday.

The hosts took the lead through Simon Adingra after a mix-up between Virgil van Dijk and Mac Allister.

Mohamed Salah levelled, then put his team in front after converting a penalty just before the break, with fans thinking VAR awarded the spot-kick following the controversy against Tottenham.

12 minutes from time, Lewis Dunk made it 2-2 as the points were shared.

After the match, Brighton boss De Zerbi approached Mac Allister and instigated a warm applause for the Argentinean in a classy gesture. Check it out below:

Mac Allster, who spent three-and-a-half years at Brighton, received a brilliant ovation from the home fans.

Of course, he left the club in the summer to join Liverpool in a transfer worth £35 million.

Speaking after the fixture, the Italian gaffer praised his opposite number Jurgen Klopp.

"I love Klopp. He can do what he wants," he said during his post-match press conference. "I consider him one of the best coaches in the world. When he says something, 99 per cent of the time I agree with it. But I thought it was a clear penalty and I think I told the referee in a good way."

Brighton occupy sixth place in the table and resume their league campaign following the international break in another big game as they travel to Manchester City.
