Arsenal fans think they have 'killed William Saliba’s love for the game' after watching his post-match interview.

The Gunners were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round after losing to Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s men had many opportunities to go in front but failed to put the ball past Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

In the end, an own goal by Jakub Kiwior and a Luiz Diaz goal sealed a 2-0 victory for the visitors.

The defeat against Liverpool meant Arsenal have only won once in their last seven matches across all competitions.

After the match, fans were left concerned after watching Saliba’s post-match interview.

One fan said on social media: “F**kkk we killed his love for the game.”

Another tweeted: “Team let him down.”

A third fan added: “On one of his best days. Him, Ramsdale, Rice were let down badly. They didn't deserve to lose that way.”

Someone else wrote: “Wouldn’t blame him if he puts in that transfer request.”

A fifth commented: “My bro is tired of Arsenal.”

Speaking about the match, Saliba said: “I’m really disappointed because we started the game so well. We had too many chances to score, but we didn’t. Even in the second half, we were good, unfortunately, we conceded one free-kick 10 minutes before the [end of the] game.

“We have to kill the game off before because when we have so many chances like this, we have to score. We have to defend free-kicks better, we cannot concede them like this, so we can be really disappointed today.”

The Frenchman continued: “We have to stick together. We know we’re not in our best moment, but we won’t give up and we’ll come back even stronger.

“We will work a lot during this break, we will breathe a little bit. We will stick together and come back stronger, and better.”
