Thierry Henry has got people talking after he delivered a no-nonsense assessment of Spurs' philosophy and identity ahead of their Premier League clash against Brentford.

The 47-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the Premier League's greatest players, was part of a star-studded pundtity line-up on Sunday afternoon alongside Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

He discussed Arsenal's so-called lack of adventure in big games, as well as Mikel Arteta's rivalry with former mentor and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who managed Henry at Barcelona.

But the subject that brought the most reaction from viewers was his not-so-subtle thoughts on Spurs amid their struggles this season.

Henry was asked by presenter David Jones if he thinks there is a "realisation within the club" that sacking Ange Postecoglou would not change the "course of direction" at the North London club.

As you can see from the above clip, Arsenal's all-time top goalscorer did not hold back as he discussed their philosophy and identity.

"Look, as a coach myself, that is the last thing you want to see - someone losing his job," Henry said on the Super Sunday show. "We're in this game to win. Obviously, people are going to say because I'm Arsenal, I'm talking like this.

"At the end of the day, what is the philosophy and identity of the club? When I was a player, all the Spurs fans would concentrate on was Arsenal. Concentrate on yourself. If you're focused on Arsenal, then you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing.

"It's the same with Everton and Liverpool. Their happiness is through our sadness. What's the model of the club? What are you trying to achieve? Are you trying to have a good stadium? Do well, in terms of business?

"But what about winning games? And I understand, yes, you might not attract the best players but look at Brentford, they go forward together and defend together.

"When I see that Tottenham team play, on the ball they can unlock anyone but the transition and offensive balance is non-existent. When they defend, they don't do it well."

Henry added: "That's the one thing I will say about Tottenham. What is the identity and philosophy? What are you trying to achieve? If you ask yourself the right question, then you will have the right answer."

Here's how fans on social media reacted to Henry's segment on Sky Sports.

One said: "Say what you want about Thierry, but his understanding of the game is incredible. And he can make you understand it in such an easy way."

A second wrote: "He ain’t wrong, a team that celebrated losing against City last season… look where it’s got them."

A third commented: "Does he know how ironic this is lmao," and a fourth added: "Finally someone said it."
