Arsenal 'planning' sensational swap deal with Crystal Palace to sign Eberechi Eze and it's pure genius

Arsenal are prepared to include a player in exchange for a deal with Crystal Palace to secure the signing of England midfielder Eberechi Eze this summer.

The Gunners are looking to ramp up their summer business as they attempt to close to gap on last season's champions Liverpool, who have already announced the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez.

Mikel Arteta has already added goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi to his ranks, and are progressing with a deal for long-term target Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

Brentford captain Christian Norgaard is also expected to be formally announced by the club.

With the Premier League's big hitters all spending big during the early stages of the window, Arsenal are desperate to keep up and believe Crystal Palace star Eze is the key to making their next step.

According to The SunSport Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with local rivals Spurs for the England man, with club chief Andrea Berta already holding talks with the player's representatives.

Eze's current contract includes a £68 million release clause that Arsenal are reluctant to pay in full, however, are willing to explore other options to complete the signing.

The report claims that Arsenal would be willing to send a player to Selhurst Park to get the deal over the line with Palace keen on adding a defender to their squad.

While the name of the player who could be involved is not currently known, the report claims he is an 'emerging star' who has played multiple times for the first team.

Eze, who recently turned 27, is keen on the move to The Emirates but is also conscious of not souring his relationship with Palace after scoring the winner in last season's FA Cup final.

The England international would like a scenario similar to Michael Olise's exit to Bayern Munich last summer which left everyone involved content.

Eze scored eight times and provided eight assists in the Premier League last season which puts him just behind Arsenal's top goal scorer Kai Havertz who ended the season with nine league goals.
