Things could get interesting in the final days of this summer's window after it emerged that Arsenal are set to rival a number of clubs, including Bayern Munich, for another major signing.
It has been a busy summer in North London, with Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cristhian Mosquera, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres all arriving ahead of the new campaign.
Mikel Arteta's side struggled with injuries last season, losing a number of key players at crucial moments, so the Gunners are keen to add strength in depth, especially after Kai Havertz's latest setback.
It appears Eberechi Eze, a long-term target of rivals Tottenham, is on the verge of joining the ranks from Crystal Palace in a deal worth around £68 million.

But a report from French newspaper L’Equipe suggests Arsenal are also in the market for another attacking player who has been linked with a big move this summer. Step forward, Malick Fofana.

Fofana, who is widely regarded as Lyon's biggest asset, enjoyed a superb campaign for the Ligue 1 side last season, notching 11 goals and six assists in all competitions.
As a result, the 20-year-old Belgian is attracting interest from a host of clubs, including Everton, who are the only club to have made a 'concrete' offer for Fofana this summer, which was worth €36 million (£31.1m) including bonuses.

But it is said Lyon wanted more than €40 million without bonuses, while Fofana is keen to play Champions League football in the coming months.
Away from Everton's interest and Bayern Munich have the left winger on their shortlist of targets alongside Arsenal. "Everything could accelerate in the last days of the transfer window, especially in the Premier League," added the report from L’Equipe.
It added: "The winger is willing to leave, but in order to make a big step up, [he wants] a club who are qualified for the Champions League."

Malick Fofana breaks silence on his future
Following weeks of speculation surrounding his future, Fofana was recently asked whether he will stay at Lyon.

Speaking after the club's 1-0 win over Lens on Saturday, he said: "If I stay at OL? Trick question. In football, anything can happen. If I stay, it will be by being happy to stay at Lyon. That's it, we'll see."
He added: "It's not that I want to leave, but if we have a good opportunity, we'll see."
