Arsenal star had lowest rated performance of ANY player in the Premier League this season

The Arsenal player recorded a rating of 4.07 this season.

An Arsenal star surprisingly had the lowest rated performance of ANY player in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal delivered a stunning campaign as they pushed eventual champions Manchester City all the way.

They ended up a mere two points behind the Blues, who secured their fourth consecutive title in an unprecedented Premier League achievement.

Mikel Arteta's side excelled, with the likes of Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice starring in the middle of the park.

Not to mention defenders Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel, who were all superb at the back.

David Raya, who joined from Brentford on a season-long loan last summer, also contributed to Arsenal's season, keeping an impressive 16 clean sheets as he won the Premier League Golden Glove award.

Despite his brilliance between the sticks, Raya recorded the lowest rated performance of ANY player in England's top flight in the 2023/24 season on WhoScored.

He registered a shocking rating of 4.07 at Luton Town back in December.

The Gunners won the game 4-3, but Raya conceded three goals - making two mistakes.

He failed to deal with a corner as Elijah Adebayo headed home and then allowed Ross Barkley's shot to go under his arms.

Raya kept four clean sheets in his last six league appearances and largely impressed in goal for Arsenal.

Asked if he would want to prolong his stay at the Emirates and if there was any talk going on backstage, the 28-year-old replied: "It’s not up to me, the contract. It’s up to the club and to Mikel. If my performances have been good enough then hopefully they will offer me a long-term contract.

"I am just focused on the present. I don’t want to think too much about the future. I just want to focus on training and the game.

"Of course, I would love to be here next season and, if that’s the case, it would be amazing, a dream come true to sign for this club."
