Fans in disbelief at what Arsenal supporter said to Alexander Isak when he arrived at Emirates Stadium

Alexander Isak starred as Newcastle United beat Arsenal on Tuesday night.

Fans have been reacting on social media after hearing what one Arsenal supporter said to Alexander Isak when he entered the Emirates Stadium.

On Tuesday night, Isak and Newcastle United arrived in North London for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie against the Gunners.

Eddie Howe's men produced a brilliant display as Arsenal experienced a rare off night at their home ground.

In the end, goals from Isak and Anthony Gordon meant Newcastle would defend a 2-0 advantage when they play the second leg at St. James' Park on February 5.

Before kick-off, a video of Isak and his Magpies teammates arriving at the Emirates Stadium went viral.

In the footage, someone was heard saying 'Isak, welcome home', as the Swedish striker walked past a group of Gunners fans.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "Arsenal fan to Isak: “Welcome home.” The absolute entitlement of these lot, you’d think they’re Real Madrid."

Another tweeted: "Arsenal fans saying welcome home to Isak how embarrassing."

A third fan added: "“Isak welcome home” is hilarious."

Someone else wrote: "Arsenal fans saying “welcome home” to isak , what a strange fan base, they all think they’re so entitled."

Due to his impressive form at Newcastle, Isak, 25, has been heavily linked with clubs around the continent, including the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

So far in the 24/25 season, Isak has 15 goals and four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions. It was recently reported that Newcastle have set a price tag of £150 million for their talisman, in a bid to warn off interested clubs.

Speaking after the match, Magpies boss Howe said: "Today is another big step forward when you look at the recent run we've had away from home.

"We played with real confidence and belief but in terms of the tie it's still very much alive and finely balanced and we have a really tough home leg to come."

Touching on Isak's performance, he added: "First half he was electric, I thought he played really well. He scored but I just thought his general game was in a really good place."

Newcastle are back in action this weekend when they take on Bromley in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
