Arsenal fans are furious with the Premier League after its official account appeared to expose Mikel Arteta’s tactics.

Last week, Arsenal recorded a convincing win over Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Goals from Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard, an own goal from Dean Henderson and a late brace from Gabriel Martinelli secured a 5-0 win.

On Wednesday afternoon, the official social media account of the Premier League posted a video explaining Gabriel’s goal.

The video explained how Trossard blocked Palace defender Joachim Andersen with his run which allowed Gabriel to move into the open space to score.

However, the video has left Arsenal fans furious.

Reacting on social media, one said: “Premier League’s official Twitter account exposing Arsenal’s tactics, something they never do to other clubs. Because obviously.”

Another tweeted: “They’re monitoring us so bad.”

A third fan added: “Why are you analysing our tactics. What do you want to expose?”

Someone else wrote: “The corruption of the PL. I don’t think I have ever seen them do this to any other club.”

A fifth commented: “Stop exposing us.”

Speaking after the match, Arteta praised his coaching staff for the success from set pieces.

He said: “Credit to all the coaches, to Nico [Jover, set-piece coach] for the amount of time and belief we put in.

“It’s got a huge impact - we’ve seen that as well in recent games that we’ve lost when we’ve conceded set-pieces, so the outcome is very different when you don’t concede and score.”

Arteta added: “We wanted to start the second part of the season with a great performance, with a great result, and build that positivity and momentum again, and I think the boys did a good job today.

“When you have opportunities to run at teams who want to sit a bit low, it’s a great way to do it. David’s reading the space, Gabby’s action as well, the timing of the run was perfect, and Leo, he did what he does best, which is have composure with the ball inside the box to make the right decision.”
