Former England striker Andy Carroll has taken a big decision after his full debut for Dagenham & Redbridge.
Carroll joined the National League South outfit in July and was also announced as a minority shareholder but his full debut didn't go to plan.
Manager Lee Bradbury named the previously injured ex-Liverpool and Newcastle United striker in his starting line-up for the first time for Dagenham's FA Cup second qualifying round tie against Bedford Town on Saturday.
The 36-year-old was sent off for an apparent elbow in the first half. The Daggers were a goal to the good at the time but subsequently took the long route into the next round, drawing on the day and winning Tuesday's replay 1-0 to set up a trip to Spalding United.

Carroll's flick-on from a corner created the winner in the replay before he serves his suspension, but Dagenham's red card woes continue.
The two games against Bedford were the third and fourth consecutive matches in which Bradbury's side had a player sent off.
Joe Haigh and Corey Panter received red cards in the previous two games and Paul Kalambayi was dismissed along with Bedford's Euan Blake on Tuesday.

In the aftermath of a disappointing debut, Carroll apparently took the decision to delete his Instagram account.
"Carroll has decided to remove his Instagram account, which had around 236,000 followers amid fan fury over his sending off," according to talkSPORT.
"However, his profile on X which boasts around 266,000 followers, remains active."

At 36, Gateshead-born Carroll is in the 20th season of senior football.
The target man rose through the ranks at Newcastle and earned his call-up to the England squad before joining Liverpool in 2011.
Carroll has become something of a journeyman since leaving West Ham United, his third permanent club, starting with a St James' Park return and two spells at Reading either side of a brief sojourn with West Bromwich Albion.

He spent 2023-24 and 2024-25 with Amiens and Bordeaux in France before heading back to England and joining the Daggers.
