A clip of Adama Traore and Bryan Mbeumo being involved in a foot race has emerged, and there was a clear winner.

On Tuesday, West Ham United took on Manchester United at the London Stadium, with both sides needing a vital victory.

The hosts took a shock lead in the 50th minute thanks to Tomas Soucek's near-post finish.

Deep into stoppage time, it looked like the Hammers would hold on for three vital points, but United had other ideas.

Mbeumo's cross was expertly met by second-half substitute Benjamin Sesko, who rescued a point for the visitors by making it 1-1.

During the match, Mbeumo was seen having a foot race with Traore as West Ham launched an attack late in the second half.

As seen on the footage, Traore appeared to have a slight head start, but Mbeumo still managed to get in front of Traore and stayed ahead.

Reacting on social media, fans were left shocked and impressed by the speed Mbeumo showed against a player often regarded as one of the quickest in the Premier League.

One fan said: "Mbeumo did this like 3 times in a row in the space of 5 minutes. Really impressed me with his fitness levels."

Another tweeted: "Mbeumo on 90mins empty gas tank, still outpacing a freshly subbed on Triore. Beast."

A third fan added: "Where did he get this final nitro boost at 90th mins..competing with Traore is insane."

Someone else wrote: "This is at 90 min-ish where Traore is subbed in. Plus, he’s running at an angle and covering more distance. Dalot’s supposed to be our fastest, Mbeumo must be close."

A fifth commented: "I’ve noticed some fans believing he’s not that quick....."

Who is the quickest player in the Premier League?

Back in September 2025, the Premier League released a list of the 10 fastest players so far in the 25/26 season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mbeumo featured and was ranked second with a top speed of 36.36 km/h.

The United man was beaten by Wolverhampton Wanderers star Jackson Tchatchoua, who clocked a top speed of 37.30 km/h.

Players such as Dan James (36.14 km/h), Yankuba Minteh (36.11 km/h), Anthony Elanga (36.00 km/h) and Jeremie Frimpong (35.86 km/h) were also included on the list.

Meanwhile, the quickest speed in Premier League history was set by Tottenham Hotspur star Micky van de Ven, who managed 37.38 km/h against Brentford back in January 2024.

Traore's fastest speed recorded in the Premier League was 36.64 km/h, which was clocked against Manchester City back in 2021.
