Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez has left fans guessing after saying he'll announce his 'new club' in three days.

The Spaniard is one of the world's top midfielders and has played 37 games for Atletico this season, scoring four goals.

But fans will be worried after the 25-year-old's announcement on Twitter which read: "I wanted to communicate something important for you."

Beneath that he posted a graphic saying 'nuevo club' which translates to new club.

Spanish newspaper AS have claimed per The Sun that a £72 million move to Manchester United could be on the cards, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly a big fan.

Saul's release clause is set at £130 million but the coronavirus pandemic could force the La Liga side to accept half of that.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano was asked of the announcement on Sunday and he explained he knew 'nothing of football transfers' in relation to Saul.

Fans have still been left excited by Saul's announcement however and are praying a move is on the cards.

Atletico Madrid fans will likely be furious with the two-time Europa League winner's conduct given his 12 year relationship with the club.

It comes only a few years after Antoine Griezmann's transfer saga which included a documentary airing on Spanish TV to announce his transfer decision.

Titled 'The Decision', Griezmann ended up filming two separate endings for the show, one saying he would stay in the Spanish capital, the other that he would go.

The World Cup winner's stint with Atleti only lasted another year however as he moved to Barcelona last summer.
