Man City Plotting Swoop For PSG Star

Man City Plotting Swoop For PSG Star

This would make sense.

Manchester City have set their sights on purchasing Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain, in a move that would make a lot of sense for both parties.

You would think that Man City have enough right now. They won the Premier League with a record total of points and with a record goals total to boot. Surely, anything now would be considered as overkill. But it appears that, despite the brilliance that their squad possess, manager Pep Guardiola is looking to strengthen the already superb squad even further with the Italian maestro.

Verratti is linked to the Citizens via publication TMW (via CityWatch), as Guardiola looks to top what was an unbelievable last season for the club.

It could be said that European football last campaign fell a little short, which is why the Catalan might be looking to the midfielder for next season.

The reception from City supporters has been mixed.

This isn't the first time that Verratti was strongly linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes, however. Last season, he was reportedly linked with a move to Barcelona, with the transfer falling only at the final hurdle.

Verratti was a huge name some season ago, but despite only being 25-years-old, he has fallen under the radar in recent years, with his teammates at PSG, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar dominating the headlines.
