Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been called out by fans for his lack of concentration during their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa last night.

Villa moved out of the bottom three on goal difference thanks to Trezeguet's volley from a corner.

The Egyptian had acres of space in the Gunners box and it was thanks to Aubameyang being distracted by Tyrone Mings.

Mings broke away from Aubameyang and flicked the ball on for Trezeguet after telling the 31-year-old with a joke.

The two can be seen exchanging words as Conor Hourihane prepares to swing the corner in.

A smirking Aubameyang then watches Mings rise high at the near post to set up his teammate for the only goal of the game.

Fans have reacted to the gaffe and think the Gabon international should have been switched on for the set piece.

Villa now go to their final day clash with West Ham knowing victory could see them safe following Watford's 4-0 defeat to Manchester City earlier on Tuesday.

Arsenal, meanwhile, will have to settle for eighth as their highest placed finish - their worst since 1995.

Mikel Arteta was quick to point out that this season wasn't what is expected at the north London outfit.

"It has to hurt and we have to suffer, it's not good enough for this club," Arteta said per BBC Sport.

"We need to improve in many areas, the team and individually."

Do you think Aston Villa will avoid relegation on the final day?
