Manchester City Troll Manchester United After Humiliating 6-1 Defeat To Spurs

Welcome to the club...

Manchester City have "welcomed" Tottenham Hotspur to the 6-1 club after their demolition of Manchester United.

United were humiliated at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon and it is the second time they have conceded five at home since 1978.

The only other team to score more than five since then is bitter rivals City, who famously ran out 6-1 winners back in 2011.

As the full-time whistle blew, City's official Twitter account immediately retweeted the score and sent Spurs a handshake emoji.

Fans have reacted to City's trolling job and it proves that United fans should probably avoid Twitter for the rest of the evening.

United actually took the lead in the game through a Bruno Fernandes penalty.

Davinson Sanchez hauled down Anthony Martial in the area inside two minutes and the Portuguese midfielder slotted home past Hugo Lloris.

Their lead would only last for two minutes as Tanguy Ndombele capitalised on poor defending from Eric Bailly and Harry Maguire to level.

Son Heung-min gave Spurs the lead three minutes later before Harry Kane chipped in on the half hour mark, two minutes after Martial was sent off.

Jose Mourinho's side extended their lead even further as Son buried his second of the game in the 37th minute.

Six minutes into the second half, Serge Aurier fired home before Kane doubled his tally with a penalty just over ten minutes from time.

The result left Sky Sports pundit and United legend Patrice Evra shocked and he even offered to cancel his contract live on air.

Gary Neville was on commentary for the game and he was in disbelief at the performance and he criticised the players for a lack of passion.

Off the pitch, United are set to announce the signings of Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.
