Footage Of Everton's Play During Crystal Palace Is Damning Evidence Of How Bad They Are

Everton crashed out of the FA Cup on Sunday and the Premier League strugglers looked far from good enough during one clip of their play.

Everton were knocked out of the FA Cup by Crystal Palace in the quarter finals on Sunday, and one clip of the game has gone viral as damning evidence at their lack of urgency.

Frank Lampard's team started the better side in the opening 15 minutes of Sunday's game but it was pretty much all downhill from there.

Marc Guehi, fresh from his first call up to Gareth Southgate's England squad, scored the opener in the 25th minute, before Jean-Philippe Mateta doubled the lead just before the half time break.

With a two goal deficit to make up in the second half, you might have thought the Toffee's were ready to take the game to Patrick Vieira's side.

However a clip from the 55th minute has showed just how lacking in any urgency they were, as the team pass the ball between the defence and the keeper, with no options out wide or in midfield to progress the game upfield.

Palace's forward line aren't even pressing the Everton defence, or giving them a hard time at all, and can just jog into position, as the visitors pass it with no urgency.

Unsurprisingly it wasn't a tactic that worked for Lampard's men, as they failed to get back into the game, and were eliminated from the competition.

Things actually got even worse for the team as Wilfried Zaha added a third and Will Hughes made it 4-0 with not too long of the game to go.

Lampard didn't sound too impressed with the goals his side conceded, calling two of them 'average' and a third one a 'fluke,' although he had no such excuse for the opener from a corner.

He went on to add that Palace 'didn't even play that well,' which is more a damning indictment of his own side than anything negative against Vieira's.

Everton did earn a much needed win against Newcastle United last week, as they continue their fight to stay out of the relegation zone, but their manager broke his hand in the celebration, he can't even turn winning into a complete positive...
