Southampton forward Nathan Redmond revealed this week that Manchester City's John Stones was targeted in Sunday's Premier League tie at the Etihad.

The decision to target the England international was a good one, after his poor back pass gave Claude Puel's side the lead after 27 minutes.

Stones, who was bought by Manchester City for £47.5 million this summer, may be a great player but his error-prone ways are certainly a worry for club and country.

In a recent study, John Stones has been revealed as the most error prone Premier League player since August 2013, making 12 defensive errors in 86 games for Everton and Manchester City.

The likes of Gary Cahill, Kyle Walker and Dejan Lovren also feature in one of the more unfortunate top 10 lists.

Stones' former teammate Phil Jagielka sits behind the defender in 2nd place with 11 defensive errors in 93 games while current Everton defender Ashley Williams is level with Jagielka on 11 defensive errors in 115 games.

Rather incredibly, another Everton player, Gareth Barry, features in the top 10 list with 10 errors in 107 games, which in all fairness, isn't a bad record.
