Yerry Mina 'bites' Dominic Solanke as tensions reach boiling point.

Everton defender Yerry Mina appeared to 'bite' Dominic Solanke as tensions between the Everton and Bournemouth players reached boiling point.

An intense goalmouth scramble saw Solanke try to hold Jordan Pickford to the floor, sparking a mass brawl among the rest of the players.

Mina was first on the scene, and appeared to bite the Cherries striker in a bizarre sequence of events.

A visibly confused Solanke revealed his battle scars to the referee displaying a red 'bite mark' on his chest.

However, Stuart Atwell showed little interest, along with VAR and the game could continue.

Instead, both Pickford and Solanke were shown a yellow card each, with Mina coming away unpunished.

But Everton fans won't care one but after Abdoulaye Doucoure's rocket strike around the hour mark was enough to secure Premier League safety.

Unfortunately for Leicester, their 2-1 win over West Ham is not enough to survive relegation, and they will join Leeds United and Southampton in the Championship next season.

Speaking after the game, a relieved Sean Dyche told Sky Sports that despite the result, the Toffees have to improve next term.

"Obviously it means a lot," he told Sky Sports. "I took over what they called a broken club, but it isn’t broken. There were cracks. It shouldn’t be in this state.

"The belief in the group and we have done well as a staff to keep them believing. They see we haven’t got full-backs, we’re losing centre forwards and they have just kept going.

"We have to learn from this experience. We are only a big club if we are giving big club performances.

"It is not just about tactics, it’s about the belief and the mentality of the group. I’m super happy about that. We want to play better, do things better, but you have to have that underlying spirit.
