Man City star Erling Haaland 'charges 40 yards' for scrap with Dan Burn after challenge on Jack Grealish

Man City star Erling Haaland 'charges 40 yards' for scrap with Dan Burn after challenge on Jack Grealish

"LMAO, man would've sent Dan Burn to Valhalla." Erling Haaland was not in the mood to be messed around with after Jack Grealish went down.

Erling Haaland charged an incredible distance to square up to Dan Burn after the Newcastle defender’s challenge on Manchester City teammate Jack Grealish.

Phil Foden fired City into a 1-0 lead in the first half at the Etihad on Saturday before Bernardo Silva doubled his side’s advantage after the break.

However, tensions escalated on the pitch after Burn went in for a challenge on Grealish, which sparked a huge scrap between both sets of players.

Amid the heated brawl between City and Newcastle players, footage emerged of Haaland storming over and pushing the 30-year-old Magpies defender.

Newcastle and City players were forced to intervene and diffuse the situation as Haaland and Burn continued to shove one another while appearing to exchange a war of words.

Referee Simon Hooper booked both Haaland and Burn, with fans on social media loving the heated standoff between the City striker and Newcastle player.

“LMAO, man would’ve sent Dan Burn to Valhalla,” one fan said in response to the footage.

A second added: “Haaland is so funny. Like, he doesn’t even look real.”

While someone else commented: “Took four men to pull Burn away, he’d f**k them all up.”

“Haaland came out of nowhere,” a Twitter user wrote.

And a fifth tweeted: “Haaland always make me laugh.”

Goals from Foden and Silva ensured Pep Guardiola’s men sealed all three points at home, with City now two points behind league leaders Arsenal.

However, Arsenal have a match in hand over City and can restore their five-point lead over Guardiola’s side with a win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Newcastle are four points behind Tottenham in the race for a top-four finish, though Eddie Howe’s men have a match in hand over Spurs.
