As is tradition, every England player will donate their World Cup appearance fees to the England Football Foundation (EFF).

The EFF was established in 2007 on behalf of the England squad following the team’s decision to donate their match fees and time to chosen charity partners such as the Bobby Moore Fund, Help for Heroes and UNICEF.

A players' committee consisting of Gary Neville, David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Jamie Carragher established the EFF.

Neville, who played an integral role in setting up the foundation. said in 2017: "The work that's been going on for 10 years with the charities so far has been outstanding, the lives that it impacts and affects is fantastic."

Since its inception, the EFF has raised more than £5 million and this summer, each England player will hand over their standard £2,000 fee to the foundation for each game they play at the World Cup.

How much will England's players receive if they win the World Cup?

As well as the £2,000 appearance fee, which is paid into the EFF and redistributed to charities, reports suggest that an individual bonus of more than £500,000 each will be handed out if England lift football's biggest prize.

It is said that fee will be inflated greatly for head coach Thomas Tuchel, who is set to earn 'several millions' if he spearheads the country to success.

Of course, that all comes before the FIFA prize pool is distributed, with $50 million (£37.5m) being given to the winners. For what it's worth, the runner-ups are set to take home $33 million (£24.9m), while the third-place team earns $29 million (£21.9m).

In the past, most title winners have donated portions of their winnings to charities, including France when they won the 2018 tournament.

In fact, Kylian Mbappe donated all his World Cup winnings to a children's charity called Premiers de Cordée, who offer sporting opportunities to children who are hospitalised or have disabilities.

How much will other nations receive if they win the World Cup?

Spain is expected to have a four-tiered system that kicks in with bonuses at the quarter-final stage. Starting at approximately £150,000, their bonuses will increase with each round progression from there on, up to £400,000 for a final win.

France players, meanwhile, would pocket £450,000 if they bring it home.

Every Germany player received £250,000 after their win in 2014, but an amount for winning the 2026 tournament has yet to be confirmed

The only nation whose prize pot is bigger than England's is Brazil, according to widespread reports. The Brazilian Football Federation will give each player $1 million (£755,000) if they manage to go all the way.
