One England star who avoided criticism against Slovenia has been slammed by infamous French outlet L'Equipe, with a match rating of just 3/10.

England put in yet another utterly disappointing showing against Slovenia, as the Three Lions laboured to a goalless draw in Cologne.

Gareth Southgate's men were again too conservative in possession with the same sideways football that the side were criticised for in the opening two matches.

England did have the ball in the back of the net thanks to Bukayo Saka, but the goal was quickly chalked off due to Phil Foden being in an offside position.

The offside goal was one of the only times Southgate's men moved the ball with any type of purpose until the 53-year-old finally introduced Kobbie Mainoo, Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon.

One of the only positives from the performance was the defense, with Jordan Pickford securing a record-breaking 11th clean sheet at a major tournament for England.

Kyle Walker has been key to England's defensive success in recent times, but despite a relatively solid performance, the Man City defender was handed a seriously low rating by L'Equipe.

The 34-year-old was awarded a 3/10 by the French media outlet which stated that he 'practically missed everything he did' and 'looked unrecognisable on the night'.

Walker wasn't the only England star rated as low as a three, with Jude Bellingham joining him as the joint worst-rated player in the game.

Bellingham couldn't have started the tournament any better with his excellent headed finish against Serbia, however, in the two games since he has been uncharacteristically poor.

The full England player ratings from L'Equipe:

Jordan Pickford- 6

Kyle Walker- 3

Marc Guehi- 4

John Stones- 5

Kieran Trippier- 5

Declan Rice- 6

Conor Gallagher- 4

Jude Bellingham- 3

Phil Foden- 5

Bukayo Saka- 4

Harry Kane- 6
