Cristiano Ronaldo trolled with heat map of performance in Man Utd's win over Tottenham Hotspur

Ronaldo's only contribution to United's best performance of the season was to walk off the bench and down the tunnel before full time.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been trolled on social media with the most pathetic heat map of all time, after walking out on Manchester United's win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Last season, it felt like United's only good results came from Ronaldo digging deep in his locker and pulling one his old tricks out of the bag.

His hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Spurs back in March was a prime example, with Antonio Conte claiming this week his side lost to Ronaldo rather than United.

On Wednesday night the Italian was not able to make that claim and the 37-year-old had to accept that United's best results, and performances now come without him starting.

He didn't exactly accept it graciously, as Fred and Bruno Fernandes both scored in United's well deserved win over top four rivals Spurs.

Marcus Rashford was preferred to the five time Ballon d'Or winner upfront, who hadn't been happy with coming off against Newcastle at the weekend, following a poor performance in the 0-0 draw.

And when Erik ten Hag had finished making his substitutions in the 87th minute, with Anthony Elanga and Christian Eriksen coming on, that signified that enough was enough for Ronaldo.

The former Real Madrid star got up from the United bench and walked down the side of the Old Trafford pitch and down the tunnel, turning back briefly to watch his teammates, before disappearing, whilst they carried on playing.

And fans on social media trolled him with a brilliant heat map of his outstanding performance, the dramatic look back and pause being the absolute highlight.

It's been a rollercoaster of a couple of week for Ronaldo, who recently celebrated his 700th club goal, in the 2-1 win over Everton.

He was greeted by Sir Alex Ferguson to commemorate the milestone, on the pitch at Old Trafford ahead of last weekend's game with Newcastle.

The former Juventus star thought he'd scored during that game, but it was bizarrely ruled out after Eddie Howe's team, and the referee, claimed they hadn't yet taken a free kick.

He got booked for the incident, which was unfair, and had little other impact on the game, before being replaced by Rashford late on.

He wasn't best pleased with the decision, in just his second league start of the campaign so far, and neither was his sister.

Ronaldo had wanted to leave Old Trafford in the summer, having been annoyed that the team hadn't qualified for the Champions League.

No offers were forthcoming for him other than a huge one from a Saudi Arabian club, they claimed after that he hadn't actually turned them down, and it had just been due to a transfer ban that he didn't move to the Middle East.

After stropping off on Wednesday, the next time anyone sees him start a game of football might be in that area of the world, for Portugal in Qatar next month.
