Bookmakers have slashed the odds of Cristiano Ronaldo making a sensational return to the Premier League during this summer’s transfer window, indicating they believe it's a near certainty.
The 36-year-old has been the subject of intense transfer speculation this year, with the Portuguese phenomenon reportedly unhappy with life at Juventus.
And now, according to Spanish publication AS, the Manchester United legend has agreed personal terms with Premier League champions Manchester City. Yep, you heard that right.
Despite being fit and available at the weekend, Ronaldo reportedly asked not to start Juve’s Serie A fixture against Udinese at the weekend.

Adding further fuel to the fire, reputable French publication L’Equipe, then claimed that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was offered to City by his controversial agent Jorge Mendes.
Incredibly, much to the disappointment, heartache and anger of United fans, Ronaldo has reportedly spoken to Pep Guardiola about his role in City's team.
It is also understood that personal terms have been agreed in principle, with the 36-year-old taking home over £250,000 a week - should the deal be completed, of course.
It is claimed that Mendes also investigated Paris Saint-German as another possible destination and Ronaldo was interested, in what would have been an incredible partnership with Lionel Messi.
The Ligue 1 giants, however, were unwilling to go forward, thus lining up Ronaldo’s blockbuster move to the blue side of Manchester.

Outside of Jack Grealish, City’s priority signing this summer was Harry Kane, with Guardiola a huge admirer of the England captain.
But with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy unwilling to negotiate, Kane announced on Wednesday that he would be staying in north London.
That has seen the club quickly turn to Ronaldo, with a striker a key area of need following the exit of Sergio Aguero to Barcelona at the end of last season.
Just last week, City were a staggering 16/1 to claim Ronaldo’s sought-after signature, but those odds have now been slashed to just 1/8.

The bookmakers are clearly convinced it's going to happen and we don't fancy betting against them. Is the Manchester derby about to get a lot spicier?
