And now, with Kylian Mbappe said to be edging ever closer to a move to Real Madrid, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is reportedly determined to bring in fellow Ballon d’Or-hauler Ronaldo if Mbappe leaves the club this summer.
Their report, however, details that the move will only be viable if Mbappe - who reportedly rejected a new five-year contract at Les Parisiens last month - trades the French capital for the Spanish, in a big-money move.
Juventus manager Allegri: “Cristiano Ronaldo is fit, yes. I was talking with him before the match and the decision was to start on the bench. I told Cristiano to get ready - he was good in the second half”. ⚪️🇵🇹 #Ronaldo— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 22, 2021
Juventus position: no bids received, Cristiano will stay.
Essentially, this summer would represent PSG’s last chance of getting a big transfer fee for the 2018 World Cup winner.
The 22-year-old forward’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and it appears that he has no intentions of renewing - especially after vocalising his dream of playing for the Los Blancos one day.
If that does happen, football fans across the world could, potentially, see Ronaldo and Messi - two of the greatest to ever play the beautiful game - line up alongside each other as teammates, instead of opponents. Just imagine.
